My Favorite Rewatch Podcasts
One funny thing the pandemic has done for us is inspire celebrities to start their own podcasts. I'll admit, I've listened to a lot of them, I'm someone that loves learning about people and it's fun to see how people really are when they're not on the red carpet. Anyway, my favorite of the celebrity podcasts has been the rewatch podcasts where members of the cast and crew of the show go back and give a recap of their experience being on the show and what happened during each episode. I know there is a lot of fan rewatch podcasts but there's something different about someone who was actually there giving a recap of the shows.
If you're a fan of sitcoms or really any series, these are a must listen to while you work. Here are my top rewatch podcasts I think you'll enjoy! (No particular order)
If you want to feel like a normal mom but also love The Office, this is the podcast for you. Jenna Fischer (Pam) and Angela Kinsey (Angela) go back and give you a synopsis and an insider look at how each episode of The Office was made while sharing behind the scene stories. They have delightful interviews with members of the cast and crew and even go as far as to find people who were extra cast members to get their take on how they felt working on The Office. During the podcast, they'll go on tangents about normal everyday life as a mom or just weird thoughts, and it's hilarious. It's seriously become a favorite and I look forward to new episodes every Wednesday. It's like I'm sipping the tea with some gal pals while we chat about our favorite show.
This is a brand new podcast that just started streaming this month, but as a fan of New Girl, I'm already loving it! Zoey Deschanel (Jess), Hannah Simone, (Cece), and Lamorne Morrise (Winston), are going episode by episode and sharing insights and stories from apartment 4D. So far they've talked about how the show was made, how the casting process went and shared stories of Jake Johnson and how not tech-savvy he is. If you love New Girl, you'll love this podcast!
3 - Parks and Recollection
Warning here, they do swear a lot on this podcast but if you're a fan of Parks and Recreation, you'll have a fun time listening to this podcast. Rob Lowe (Chris Traeger) and Alan Yang (a writer and director on the show) also go episode by episode and talk about the writing process of each show and the evolution of the characters. Their podcast shares more about the creative process, but it still provides fun stories on what went on behind the scenes. Also for Marvel fans, Chris Pratt is on it a lot and he's amazing.
I wouldn't exactly call this a rewatch podcast but it's a fun podcast for fans of Lord Of The Rings. Dominic Monaghan (Merri) and Billy Boyd (Pippin), who are besties in real life, share their experiences working on the film but also talk about a lot of random things that are absolutely ridiculous. They have a segment called "eat the world" where they eat strange foods, and they bring on fans of the films and books and have quizzes on their LOTR knowledge. They've had guests on like Elijah Wood and Sean Astin and have hilarious stories to share. You have to hear the one about Sean Astin directing helicopters during a storm - soooo funny.
Not a sitcom but a fan favorite, Rob Benedict (Chuck) and Richard Speight Jr (Gabriel) take you on a journey as they chat with cast and crew members from Supernatural! This show also recently started and having listened to Rob and Dick's podcast Kings Of Con, I knew this one would be just as fun. Listening to these two guys is like listening to two dorky dads, they're so funny and know exactly what to ask the guests they bring on to talk about the show and the creation of Supernatural.
