Where is the MCU taking Matt Murdock?
When the series Daredevil ended on Netflix in 2018, it kind of sucked because like we had talked about, it kind of left us guessing what was going to happen next, and Daredevil is probably the most favorite Defenders series on Netflix. So now that Marvel has introduced him into the MCU, what's next for Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock?
I wish I knew as much as other people on the facts of the upcoming phase of the MCU, but I'm not at that level yet, but according to Screen Rant, we will be seeing a lot of Matt Murdock dabbled throughout the MCU, and is rumored to possibly have a solo film. (Excuse me while I geek out). But until that solo film is confirmed, we will most likely see him in some upcoming Disney + series, and maybe some Marvel films.
The series we are most likely to see Matt Murdock appear in is She-Hulk, which will be airing on Disney + later in 2022. Why this is slated to be a VERY likely appearance is that She-Hulk AKA Jennifer Walters is also an attorney like Matt - I mean if they didn't meet at least once, that would be very unsatisfying.Another series we may see Daredevil in the future is Echo (Disney + series coming in 2023), as Echo runs into Daredevil a lot - even dating him in the comics. And because of the series Hawkeye, we know that the two share a common enemy - Wilson Fisk.
Moon Knight, is another series we may see him, and he might even possibly team up with Shang-Chi in. I doubt it'll happen but if Marvel is going to follow the comics (which they only sort of have recently), Daredevil actually teams up with him and some other favorites. The two are a part of the Marvel Knights with other heroes like Black Widow (maybe we can get Yelena?), and Cloak and Dagger.
As for films, I think we'd most likely see him in Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania (Matt and Pym were friends in the comics), The Fantastic 4 (he was actually their lawyer at one point), and the upcoming Spider-Man films. Yes, Amy Pascal who was a producer on No Way Home did confirm Tom Holland would be returning as Peter Parker for another series of movies, and who better to have for his lawyer than Matt Murdock. I'm not sure what legal things Spider-Man will need help with but he might need Daredevil's crime-fighting help, and, I mean he's already made his appearance in No Way Home.
One question that has remained unanswered though, is whether Matt Murdock's friends from the Netflix series will be joining him in the MCU. As a fan of the show, I'd love to see Foggy and Karen's return. They both played awesome roles in the Netflix series and the actors who played them were born for those roles, but I'm afraid with all these new heroes making their debut in the MCU, as well as the superheroes we already know and love, that adding more characters might be too much. We do know however that there was another actress in The Defenders and Iron Fist series who asked to come back and join the MCU but she turned it down, so who knows? If they do come back, I think it'll be a very very minor thing, just a little love to make the fans cheer at home or in the theater. BUT if Charlie Cox gets his own solo film as Daredevil we better see Foggy and Karen back.
As a big fan of Daredevil, I'm just excited to see Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock back. Sorry Ben Affleck, but the fans have all agreed that Charlie Cox is Daredevil and we are so excited to see him in the future.
