Gilgamesh is the guy who people mistook for Hercules, so you know he's awesome. He even fought side by side with Hercules and befriended Achilles, then King David - he had some powerful friends, but when they all died and he was by himself, he joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. I guess we all have those embarrassing moments. During this time he didn't understand that being an Eternal meant that you lived eternally so he continued to seek eternal life.
When he learned what he was capable of and who he was, he became known as "The Forgotten One." He learned this by running into Thena's dad Zuras but because he was so involved with humans during his loooong lifetime they banished him. Sprite wasn't a fan and later used him to fight a bad guy in space and after winning, The Forgotten One" then returned to Earth and was renamed Hero.
Jump to modern times.
He adopted the name Gilgamesh (finally), worked with Mr. Fantastic and the Avengers, then was later kidnapped by Immortus who was posing as Kang (the bad guy in Loki), then killed.
He was reborn, and like all the other Eternals eventually forgot who they were. As a human, Gilgamesh was a performer, working as a strong man in Brazil. Ajak found him and triggered his memory which made him angry because she gave him false memories, so he went out to destroy his fellow Eternals. Thena fixed him eventually and he fought with the Eternals to fix Earth.
He later became roomies with Hercules, fought Thanos with the Eternals, and also hated the Eternals machine and knowing that when you killed an Eternal, people died.
