What can we maybe expect from Hawkeye

Yesterday was the day! The day when Marvel and Disney decided to give the most underrated Avenger his own series. Now the series to me doesn't really feel like Clint Barton's so far as much as Kate Bishops, but it was still a fun watch, to see Clint being solo and seeing what he's capable of.
I won't break down the episodes but I wanted to throw some easter eggs at you that might help you see where this series could be taking us as it introduces us to Kate Bishop and Echo!

First, I love that Clint and his wife named their youngest son Nathaniel, after Natasha. You can really see that her death has gotten to Clint after he saw that really tacky Avengers musical and I love that's how they have honored her.

If you're wondering where Kate's mom's fiance Jack Duquesne comes into play, I'll explain. In the series, we see he's really trying to get the blade that Ronin in a black market auction, an item he really can't afford, but his fiancee can! Why is he so into it? Well, in the comics, he was actually trained alongside Hawkeye and between them, Jack became the swordsman, and Clint became the archer. Is he the villain though? No idea.

What's the significance of Kate's aunt's apartment? Moira Brandon, in the comics, isn't a superhero but she's a filthy rich famous actress. We don't meet her in the episode but in the comics, her home in California ends up being the West Coast Avenger's campus. Nothing is added to an episode for no reason. We also know the MCU is starting to build up it's West Coast Avengers so, this is clearly going somewhere.

Another fun addition, if you're paying close attention (only us die-hard MCU fans are doing this) the news anchor who is talking about the bombing in NYC is the same anchor who was in Venom and in the previews for Spider-Man No Way Home. It's a weird little thing but for us Marvel fans, he's the source of our knowledge into where we are in the multiverse.

In that black market auction, the red tracksuit gang breaks in only to steal a watch that was being
auctioned off. Clearly, Avengers HQ was ransacked after the events of Endgame (how else would they have gotten Ronin's suit), but who does that watch belong to and why is it so important? The watch belonged to Tony, and my guess is that this gang wants the watch because they're in cahoots with some hotshot who wants to use the Stark Tech to improve their own tech. Maybe it's Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton in Spider-Man) who is using any Avengers tech to improve his own? Anyway, maybe we'll learn more later.

Then at the end of the second episode, we're introduced to Echo. NOW, Echo is Kingpin's daughter (the big baddie in the Daredevil series and the animated Spiderman Into The Multiverse). I'm personally excited about this because Vincent D'Onofrio (the actor who played Kingpin in the Netflix Defenders series) actually tweeted out about a week ago that he was excited about the Hawkeye series. No coincidence in my opinion. I really think this is leading into introducing the Defenders into the MCU, at least Daredevil, and I personally would LOVE to see him in these films. Matt Murdock is awesome and one of my favorite heroes in the Marvel universe, and D'Onofiro's Kingpin is just an absolute dream of a villain - am I allowed to say that? He's just cunning, and devious but believes he's doing something better for his city - my favorite kind of villain.

I love the grounded Marvel superheroes, not to say I won't fall in love with our new ones, but if you think about it, Clint is basically our last Avenger, besides Bruce and Thor but ones a god and the other turns into an angry green monster. I love how these Disney+ series are connecting everything. I CAN'T WAIT to see Florence Pugh (Yelena, Blackwidow's sister) make her appearance in the series and see how that all goes down, and potentially see Kingpin make his MCU debut. Don't underestimate the Hawkeye series!!!
