Who Is Ikaris?

No, Ikaris is neither Prince Charming nor Robb Stark, but he is played by Richard Madden in the upcoming Eternals movie. We're just getting that off our chest so you're not too confused.

Ikaris is an Eternal (read the past post for who they are). He's basically Wolverine, the Flash, Professor X, combined into one, and is also telekinetic. Yeah, where was this guy when Thanos was around?

Ikaris (we actually don't know what his REAL name is) comes from another planet with a group of Eternals called Polar Eternals. Much later like 18,500 BC later, he saved a group of humans on an ark as the Celestials destroyed Atlantis and Lumeria. Ikaris was mistaken for being a bird and later, this all became the story we know as "Noah and the Ark."

 - Remember everyone, Marvel is fiction so if you do believe in The Bible, don't get all hot on this case -

He later meets a girl from Greece, they have a baby together and call that boy Ikaris. He sadly died in a flying accident and to keep his memory alive Ikaris (the one this post is about) took his son's name to keep his memory alive, which is where he gets his name from.

At one point, Ikaris believes himself to be human, and during that time, he takes on the name Ike Harris. He eventually understands he's not human but an Eternal, and searches the Earth for his Eternal friends and convinces them of who they are, because if he didn't then the Celestials would've taken over the planet again.

Ikaris had always been designed to be on Earth because he is the only Eternal to know about the "Dreaming Celestial." This thing is in this pyramid thing that is containing the power of the "Dreaming Celestial," and if anyone tried to release this, Ikaris would be alerted. Celestials are really cruddy beings as we learned in Guardians 2. At one point one of the Eternals learns about the "Dreaming Celestial" and actually tries to activate it out of love! This is where Ikaris has to team up with the Avengers to prevent it from destroying the planet again... because we don't have arks sitting in our backyards to save us from another massive flood.

So many great storylines for Ikaris and the Eternals to enter the MCU. I personally can't wait for November!
