Why do you need to watch Loki for the upcoming movies?

First off, Loki is an interesting character and we've grown to love him over the past 11 years. He's the god of mischief and he's had a great story arc; from seeing him as the villain in both Thor, and The Avengers, to seeing him trying to protect his brother before having his skull crushed by Thanos. Also, it's a good money grab (I may have already bought a Loki shirt) but how could this show help with with bringing in our next epic phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

A simple answer: it explains a multiverse and how it works, and it looks like our next phase of films will have a large part in it; with films like, Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, The Eternals (possibly), the reference to it in Spider-Man: Homecoming and had time travel done in Endgame.

If you've seen the episode, it has an awesome 60's animation that explains how it all works, and according to the writer of Loki Michael Waldron, Loki would explain time travel within the MCU. We learn in Loki that if you do something that wasn't meant to happen, you've created a nexus, and either you are sent to fix it, or you're killed off and your timeline is destroyed.

But lets dive deeper with thoughts I had while watching Loki. If you don't want to read further then you're good, but if you're as invested in the MCU as I am, you might ponder these too.

So, my question is, if Steve Rogers went back in time to fix the timelines by returning the infinity stones, did he create a nexus with the timeline he created to be with Peggy? There is a VERY quick scene in Loki where you possibly see Peggy being arrested by the TVA, but so far I can't find anything to confirm that's her. There are rumors though Chris Evans is coming back for a Marvel series or film... maybe this will explain that? All I'm saying is that every scene in a TV or film is important even if it's short, and that was a pointless scene unless that really was Peggy.

This also makes me think that this will play a large part in the multiverse as The Ancient One (the bald lady from Dr Strange) explained to Dr. Banner in Endgame the importance of putting the infinity stones back in their timelines. How did she learn about that? And did you notice all the infinity stones they've recovered? I'm assuming they got them from the other Lokis but those are a heck of a lot of infinity stones, so if there are that many, there are A LOT of messed up timelines. Did Steve fail? Did he run into a Loki?

And lest we forget, there was another VERY quick scene within the Loki trailer that showed up sitting with Natasha (Blackwidow)  in what looked like the soul stone. Maybe we find out where she ends up since Blackwidow was supposed to be released before this series showed up.

Also worth noting is the commercial in WandaVision about an anti-depressent called Nexus. We know those commercials were all a lot more than clever homages to classic adds and the explanation of nexus events in Loki seem to confirm Wanda will have a big part to play in the coming phase of films (not to mention putting into perspective just how powerful the Scarlett Witch truly is!!)

Anyway, I'm excited to see what we learn from Loki and where it's going to lead us into our next phase of epic films. It'll be a great lead into what we might be seeing in the next phase, or it might be wrapping up some loose ends we never saw.
