Black Widow - A very action packed film with all the emotions

It only took a year but we can finally watch Black Widow in the theaters soon and on Disney + on July 9th! But let's talk a spoiler-free review before we get into it.

Again, like most Marvel movies, you'll appreciate it more if you've seen the past films that Black Widow AKA Natasha Romanoff is involved in like Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. There are lots of fun nods to her character and some of the Avengers, and there are a bit more details revealed about what happened in Budapest with Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Nat.

The movie really shows the horrible things Natasha went through as a kid and growing up in the black widow program. It was emotional to watch as a mother of a daughter, and as a sister but it helped you connect to her character and understand that she has more depth, more than what we saw in Avengers Age of Ultron and Endgame.

We also learn more about Natasha and where she comes from. She so cool guys, like if you didn't love her after Endgame, you'll realize how awesome she is as a woman, sister, and person. It was nice to see where her character evolved from and why she chose to become an Avenger, and how she kept her morals, and where she learned them from. She's a lot stronger than we thought, and I personally loved seeing it in this film. In the past films, she tended to be overshadowed as a leader by Cap and Tony, but in this film, we can truly see what she is capable of, as a spy and a leader.

I give it a 3.5, as a Marvel fan, it was mid-tier and I'd say on the same level as Iron Man 2. It's a stand alone film, and even though the action was fun, there was A LOT of it. It took a while to slow down, and as a Marvel fan, I wanted to learn more about Natasha and find ways to connect with her more on a different level since this is the last time we'll see her in the MCU. I loved David Harbour as the Red Guardian, and I can't wait to see where Yelena ends up within the MCU because they did a great job at getting you to love her.

There is one end credit scene, and you'll want to have watched The Falcon and The Winter Soldier to appreciate it.
